Laura Wickens (BSc Hons Physiotherapy)
Laura is a qualified physiotherapist and Pilates Instructor with a special interest in Woman’s Health. She Qualified in 2005, from Queen Margaret University (Edinburgh) with a BSc (Honours) in Physiotherapy. She worked initially for four years in Scotland as a rotational physiotherapist, providing her with wide scope of physiotherapy experience before migrating to Australia and focusing on Musculoskeletal injuries and Pilates rehabilitation.
Laura believes in a hands-on approach to treatment using manual therapy and muscle release techniques in conjunction with an appropriate rehabilitation or management exercise program. She has a special interest in identifying muscle imbalance and postural dysfunction and restoring this balance through the use of functional exercises and Pilates. She is passionate about Pilates both as a treatment tool for rehabilitation and for general well being. She has completed training with The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and is competent to teach mat work, equipment and pre/post natal Pilates.
Since having her first child in 2014, she understands the need for a strong mind and body to assist you through pregnancy, birth and the post-natal period. Laura is trained in assessing and treating Woman’s Health conditions including; pelvic floor dysfunction, continence issues and pre/post natal conditions.
