Josie started practising yoga about 14 years ago, after her mum suggested it as an alternative treatment for her sciatica.
This sent her on a wonderful, challenging and rewarding journey. Josie did not only start healing her body, but also observed how the connection of movement and breath brought every aspect of her being – body, mind, emotions – together.
In 2014 she trained to become a Hatha yoga teacher (420hrs) through Qi Yoga in Sydney. Since then, she has developed her keen interest and knowledge in deep healing through the practice of yoga by completing her Yoga Nidra & Stress Management Teacher Training (20hrs) through Slow Yoga, Yoga Therapy Level 1 Teacher Training through Adore Yoga (220hrs), Reiki Level 1 and 2 through Joan Miller and Yin Yoga Teacher Training (50hrs) through Slow Yoga following the lineage from Sarah Powers.
For Josie, yoga is like coming home. In her personal practice as well as in her teachings she focuses on the body-mind connection, working with flowing movements to develop strength and flexibility, breathing techniques, meditation, sanskalpas (intentions) and the subtle energies of the body. However, she doesn't follow an 'one size fits all' approach, but believes in creating an individualised practice that serves your body and mind.
In Josie’s classes, you will experience a kind, non-competitive and safe environment, in which you will work to break down the barriers that get in the way of living life to its full potential.
